All good parents are aware of the importance of helping their kids with learning to read. So looking at resources such as the leapfrog tag reader – pink is a good idea. With all the things going on at school, there simply is not enough time to give each individual kid the attention needed. So often this results in poor reading ability. So, have a look at all the possibilities.
One of the possibilities is that you will get someone to give your kid extra reading lessons.
This is not a very good option as it can be very expensive and the kids can find it very boring. The ideal is to make reading fun.
You can also get a computer program to help your kids with reading. This is fun and very often successful as the kids are learning without even realizing it. Different games are used to increase a kids vocabulary and spelling abilities and many of these programs include math exercises as well, so you will be killing two flies with one swat.
Then there is the possibility of the Leapfrog Tag Reader – Pink. This is an easy reading system that brings the words to life with a tiny camera in the reading “pen.” Kids can go off, on their own, and read. An added benefit is that it is portable and your kid can take it with on long journeys as entertainment in the car.
And then, there is of course the time honored way of reading to the kids while he or she is following you in the book. I find this works pretty well with my granddaughter, but my son did not enjoy it. So, this will depend on whether your kid likes sitting next to you, reading.
Obviously it does not have to be the one or the other. You can get the Leapfrog Tag Reader – Pink and still do some of the other as well. Actually I’ll recommend spending some time with your kid working on his or her reading in spite of what other methods you are using to help.
